It’s about to get real!
Chelsea went in the WBWC today and got some news. Here blood pressure spiked again. The bab is just fine, no issues there. But they're worried about her. So, she's doing some more tests tomorrow and if they come back with bad news we'll be going into the hospital tomorrow to be induced. Which, if you readers have been following along, I'll be a dad sometime in the next few days...
I'm still not convinced I'm ready. Though, as I've said previously, I don't think anyone is ever fully ready to be responsible for another human being. Let alone one that can't tell you what's wrong, when it's hungry, or that can't even move itself around. So, just thought I'd give you a quick heads up to let you know that soon this blog will be filled with information about the wonderful new thing that will be entering our lives.
Enjoy, and I'll see you on the other side.
Another week.
So, another week begins. Why do Mondays always suck? I blame the fact that I'm still required to work. Damn you lottery! Why won't you let me win you!? Work is the same as usual. I enjoy what I do, but if I didn't have to do it, I wouldn't. I'm sure I can't be alone on this one. But if I am, congrats to you for finding something you love to do so much you don't ever want to stop.
Anyways, I'm rambling. Other than the work week starting anew, Chelsea finally checked her phone to see several messages from the WBWC. Apparently they've decided to start worrying again about her blood pressure... I wish they'd make up their mind.
NOTE TO THE MOTHERS OUT THERE: NOTHING IS WRONG.
They just want to get her in more often to make sure nothing goes wrong either. So, that's been frustrating Chelsea this week. That and the whole being pregnant. She's ready for the baby to come, if only to ease the discomfort from carrying the baby around. I'm not so ready for the baby to come... But I don't think anyone is ever fully ready. We still have stuff to do and it's now falling on me to do. And, in case you weren't aware, I'm a procrastinator. So, hopefully I can get the cleaning and stuff done in a timely enough manner that Chelsea doesn't kill me before the baby comes... Or after the baby comes, for that matter.
It's early in the week and we're already struggling to make it through. I'm sure will be fine, but sometimes you just want a Tuesday to turn into a Friday. That would be nice. Hope everyone else is having a better start to their week.
Weekend Musings… On a Monday
This past weekend was a bit of a crazy one. Started out a little slow, sped up, and then ended abruptly. Ah, Monday, how I loathe you.
But all is well with the world. Over the course of two days, I slept for around 18 hours, give or take an hour. It was glorious. I wasn't sick or anything, just recovering from my inability to go to bed before 2AM. I guess this could become useful for when the baby comes, because I'll already be awake when it starts crying at 2AM. YAY!
Besides the sleeping, we enjoyed several activities. Well, some of it was enjoyable and some of it was work. Chelsea did all the laundry, because she still doesn't trust me. And I wouldn't trust me either. (Who separates colors!? Lights and darks, people!) That took most of the weekend, because she tends to procrastinate laundry. Just like I procrastinate the kitchen cleaning. Which I did on Saturday, only to make a mess of it again on Sunday.
Sunday was our busy day. I woke up at 5ish with Olive. Took her out and then passed back out on the couch until 1ish. Then the fun began. We went to the dog park, went to the grocery store, and then I proceeded to make delicious bierocks. And delicious they were! That's what caused the re-messing of the kitchen. But now we have a week's worth of tasty food that we can use for lunches or dinner when we see fit.
We also finished up season 4 of Dexter. This show is AMAZING. Seriously. And the finale for this season was crazy. CRAZY.
So, yeah. That was our weekend.
Now I'm working on getting a hold of our lender to get an appraisal done for the house, get the car seat in the car, get baby clothes cleaned, clean the bathrooms, clean my desk, and on and on and on. Lists suck.
And life goes on.
We’ve been inspected!
So, we had our new home inspected on Wednesday this week. It went very well. The inspector showed us all of the problems our soon-to-be home had. And, fortunately, there weren't many issues at all and the issues that existed were very minor. If you're interested, here is the report.
Chelsea also visited the midwives at Women's Birth and Wellness Center on Wednesday. She found out at this appointment that she's having mini-contractions currently. Probably Braxton-Hicks contractions, but contractions none-the-less. So, that makes it more real than it has been before. I'm not ready for the baby to come today or tomorrow... We still need to do things to prepare! Like clean all of the clothes and linens the new baby will be using... Get bottles... Clean the house... Sweet Jesus! There's so much to do and so little time!
So, it's getting a little hectic around here. Preparing for a new baby, a new house, and a new life. I'm sure we'll handle everything fine, but at times it can be a little frightening. Also, I'm still not convinced I'm an adult, even with all of this other nonsense going on.
All your house are belong to us…
The house hunting ceases in short order. We took along our bestest relatives and hit up our top choices from yesterday. We actually took in a couple new houses as well. We got talked out of the renovation project, unsurprisingly. We also got talked out of the second big house on Chelsea's list. It just wasn't meant to be. At the end of the day we decided we would try to put an offer on the house on Elderberry. A small house in a nice neighborhood.
As we drove home we were discussing this fact with the realtor and she decided to get the seller's agent on the phone to get the scoop. She found out that there was another offer in the works that evening! So she recommended that we should put together our own offer. So off we went to put that together. A few hours later and we sent the offer off. And then we sat and waited. After a few hours and some back and forth with our realtor, the offer was accepted. I repeat, the offer was accepted. That means we have a house...
Are we adults now?
Anyways, here are a few photos for you to enjoy. ENJOY THEM!
